Galerie Karma is another effort by the promoters of Abstract Frames & Supplies Pvt.Ltd. — the team which brought you the best frames from around the world and over nine thousand happy customers exist in this city will vouch for the frames we have constructed to their choice keeping conservation in mind.

Amitabh Bhattacherji, Director, was born in Dhanbad in December 1956. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Science, he did his post-graduation in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from XLRI, Jamshedpur. After a 13 year 'man management' stint at Tata Steel, he dared to leave the confines of the secure corporate world and decided to do something creative. Abstract was born in September 1999. Synthetic frames were introduced in the Indian market and framing got mechanized.

Galerie Karma was launched to provide talented artists from Bengal and the Rest of India a larger platform to showcase their paintings. The artists working with us over the last few years have grown with us. Their works have been displayed and sold at Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata and the response has been continually encouraging.

We have been very careful with the pricing of artworks. Though artwork prices have touched the skies, Galerie Karma brings to you affordable art without compromising on quality. This has helped our existing customers to increase their collection and newer ones to make a start.

We have on board, Mr.Sukanta Basu, a very fine artist. Born in 1929 he spent all his working life in Delhi — first at the National Gallery of Modern Art and then with the National Museum as a restorer. He is the first professionally trained restorer in India and was instrumental in setting up the first structured training programme that turned out many known and lesser known restorers. He trained in Italy during 1961 – 62. He now certifies the authenticity of art by painters including Jamini Roy, Rabindranath Tagore, Debi Prasad Roy Chowdhury and Amrita Shergil.
